Conditioner Bar

A solid conditioner bar that makes your hair easy to live with again. It softens, smooths and helps the knots let go, so combing through stops being a fight, no "repairing complex" fairy tales, just a well-made bar that conditions your hair and gets out of the way.

One small habit to unlearn: don't glob it on like shampoo. Wet your hair, glide the bar down the lengths, mid-length to ends, where you actually need it, give it a couple of passes, then run your fingers through and you'll feel it work. It won't fuse your split ends back together (nothing does), but it'll make them far less annoying, so it's Knot your problem anymore.

Our conditioner has been mindfully formulated to get you the mildest and most effective results

How to use

The one habit to unlearn: this isn't a handful-of-goo situation. You glide, you don't glob.

  1. Wet your hair and the bar, both need water to activate.
  2. Glide the bar down the lengths of your hair, with your hair held between your hand and the bar. Focus on mid-lengths to ends, not the scalp.
  3. Do a couple of passes. It'll feel like barely anything's coming off, trust me, it is.
  4. Run your fingers or a comb through to spread it evenly.
  5. Leave it a minute if your hair's dry and thirsty, then rinse.
  6. Let the bar dry out between washes so it lasts.

P.S. if you don't let it dry between washes it will go mushy.

Do's

  • Do wet everything first - dry bar on dry hair does nothing.
  • Do concentrate on the mid-lengths and ends, where hair is oldest and driest.
  • Do comb or finger it through, that's what actually distributes it.
  • Do trust the light application; you can always add a pass, you can't take one away.
  • Do let the bar drain and dry between uses (a soap dish or a spot out of the stream), a dry bar lasts far longer.

Don'ts

  • Don't rub it on like shampoo, gliding is the whole technique.
  • Don't put it on your scalp or roots. That's where your natural oils already are; conditioner there just makes hair greasy and flat.
  • Don't expect a thick, gloopy amount, a little slip is all it takes, and more isn't better.
  • Don't leave the bar sitting in a puddle, it'll go soft and disappear faster.
  • Don't panic if your hair feels different for the first week or two, it's adjusting, not broken.

Ingredients Decoded

Not all formulas are created equal and not all ingredients are functional at the same amount. An ingredient can do real work at the right level and next to nothing at a token one, so a name on a label means little without the nuance behind it. It's all about the right ingredients, at the right amounts, each with a job to do. Below are a few of the ones doing the most visible work, but every ingredient in this formula earns its place.

Broccoli Seed Oil

The natural silicone

Slip and shine, without the plastic.
Yes, broccoli. It's naturally rich in erucic acid, which coats each strand in a light, glossy film, so you get the smooth slip and gloss that silicones give, but plant-based and without the build-up that eventually leaves hair limp and dull. It smooths the cuticle, tames frizz, and stays lightweight instead of greasy. This is the ingredient doing the job most brands hand to silicone.

Argan Oil

The softener

The trusted one, and for good reason. High in oleic and linoleic fatty acids plus naturally occurring vitamin E, argan softens and nourishes the hair, boosts shine and makes everything more manageable, while staying light enough not to weigh you down. It's the familiar, well-loved oil that leaves hair feeling genuinely looked after.

Hydrolysed Oat Protein

The strength

For hair that feels stronger, not just softer.
Tiny oat-derived proteins cling to the hair's surface and form a supportive film, improving resilience so hair is less prone to snapping, helping it hold onto moisture, and leaving it smoother and shinier. It strengthens and improves the surface of the hair, it doesn't rebuild it from the inside, because nothing topical truly can.

Rosemary Oil

The scalp favourite

A fresh finish your scalp will like. Rosemary essential oil gives the bar its clean, herbaceous scent and it's disclosed honestly, not hidden behind the word "parfum." Rosemary is also traditionally loved for the scalp and rich in antioxidants. It's having a real moment in hair care, and while the growth evidence is still emerging, we won't promise miracles, just a fresh, scalp-friendly finish.

Now for the rest of the ingredients in the formula:

Cetearyl Alcohol

A fatty alcohol, which sounds alarming and isn't. It's the softening, conditioning kind (the opposite of the drying alcohols people fear): it smooths the hair, adds slip, helps seal in moisture and gives the bar its solid structure.

Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter

Cocoa butter. Rich in fatty acids, it forms a soft protective layer that seals in moisture, eases dryness and keeps hair pliable and soft and it smells quietly wonderful while doing it.

Behentrimonium Methosulfate

The main conditioning agent, plant-derived from rapeseed. It's what actually detangles: drawn to the worn parts of your hair, it lays the cuticle flat so a comb glides through with less breakage. Despite the "-sulfate" in the name that sets off alarm bells, it's not a harsh sulfate cleanser, it's mild and gentle.

Cetyl Alcohol

Another fatty alcohol, lighter and silkier. It adds glide, smooths the cuticle for shine and helps everything spread evenly. Softening, not stripping.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride

A light, coconut-derived emollient. It gives slip, softens without a greasy feel, and carries the oils and essential oils evenly through the bar.

Maranta Arundinacea Root Powder

Arrowroot. A natural starch that mops up excess oil and leaves a soft, silky, powdery finish, so hair feels light and clean rather than weighed down.

PCA Glyceryl Oleate

A conditioning emollient that restores softness and moisture and improves manageability. Part of what gives the bar its lovely slip.

Glyceryl Stearate SE

An emollient and emulsifier: it softens and smooths, helps the oil and water elements blend together, and keeps the bar stable and consistent from batch to batch.

Tocopherol

Vitamin E. An antioxidant doing two jobs: it keeps the natural oils in the bar from going off, so it stays fresh and lasts, and offers hair and scalp a little protection from everyday oxidative stress.

Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil

Sunflower seed oil. A light, gentle carrier oil rich in fatty acids and vitamin E: it conditions, adds a soft sheen and helps everything blend smoothly.

Cedrus Atlantica Oil/Extract

Cedarwood. The warm, woody note in the natural fragrance, with a soothing, grounding reputation for the scalp.

Pinene*, Camphor*, Limonene*

Here's the honest part: these aren't added on their own, they're naturally occurring components of the rosemary and cedarwood oils. EU law requires us to name certain fragrance components so anyone with a sensitivity can see exactly what's in here. So we do, out loud, instead of hiding them inside "parfum." That's what the asterisk means.
